On this date in 1982, Bauhaus released their tenth single, "
Ziggy Stardust". It was backed by "
Third Uncle". The B side appeared on their third studio album,
The Sky's Gone Out. The A side was not included but was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The 12 inch version included two additional live tracks, "
Waiting For The Man" and "
Party Of The First Part". The single reached the #15 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Northampton, England goth band, originally known as Bauhaus 1919, broke up in 1983. Peter Murphy found some success as a solo artist. After some other short-lived projects, the remaining former members of Bauhaus (Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins) formed Love And Rockets. Bauhaus recently reunited to record a new album and tour.
