On this date in 1979, The Rude Kids released their second single, "
Stranglers (If It's Quiet, Why Don't You Play?)". It was backed by "
Punk Will Never Die!". Neither track appeared on a regular album. The A side was a direct response to The Stranglers' song, "
Sweden (All Quiet on the Eastern Front)" which was, in itself in response to the rough treatment they received in Sweden on a recent tour. The Stockholm, Sweden punk band released two albums and several singles before disbanding in 1983.
